Virginia — scholastic records and school surveys (Va. Code §§22.1-287, 22.1-79.3)

The two Virginia provisions a product touching pupil records or in-school questionnaires has to be read against: §22.1-287, which closes access to a pupil's scholastic record to everyone but an enumerated list, and §22.1-79.3, Virginia's own survey and materials-distribution regime — a state PPRA analogue with a written-consent gate on surveys requesting sexual, mental health, medical or family information, and an outright ban on sexual-information surveys in kindergarten through grade six.
